The Magic’s Last Encore: Relaxation, Adventure, and Memorable Moments at Disney
Day 7 was our last day in the magic. Since we were out late the prior night at Typhoon Lagoon, we got a late start to the day. I again made everyone breakfast and put on my swimsuit. This being our last day, I wanted to spend some of it by the pool. The plan after the pool was to head to the Magic Kingdom and do some things we have had yet to do. We would then end the night at Epcot with dinner at Le Cellier in the Canada pavilion.
We made our way over to the Magic Kingdom at around 2pm. I knew at this time of day that the main attractions would have long waits, so my plan was to hit up the less popular attractions. The first of those attractions was the Walt Disney World Railroad. We boarded the train at the Mainstreet USA Station and took the train over to Frontierland.

After arriving in Frontierland, we got off the train and made our way over to Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland. One of the kids wanted to get the I Lava You float. With the float acquired we took some pictures with it around Adventureland and quickly ate it before it melted. We went back to the Frontierland train station to ride it over to Fantasyland.

The teacups was the next thing on our list, so after we got off the train we made our way there. We waited maybe five minutes before we all found ourselves sitting in the teacups. I hate this ride because I hate spinning but at least there was a short wait. Luckily, Heidi didn’t spin it too bad. After the teacups it was time to get a grand circle tour of Tomorrowland.

Tomorrowland best views might just be from the highway in the sky aka The Peoplemover. The Peoplemover might just be the best way to relax and get off your feet for a few minutes in the Magic Kingdom. After the people mover it was on to another Disney Classic The Carousel of Progress. With a “Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” stuck firmly in our heads it was now time to head over to Epcot.

Monorail was to transportation of choice to get over to Epcot. We arrived at Epcot at around 5:30pm and made our way over to the Mexico pavilion. We did the Duck Tales game in Mexico, which I was not as impressed with compared to the game in the other countries. We exited the big pyramid and continued our clockwise trek around world showcase.
Norway was the next stop we made. Einstok White Ale is beer they have at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe, the bakery in Norway, a beer I happen to enjoy. I ordered two beers and one school bread for all of us to share. I don’t know why I’ve never had the school bread before, but it was one of the best things I’ve ever had in Epcot.

Italy has slowly become one of my favorite countries in Epcot and it was our next stop. I went into Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar and ordered a prosecco for Heidi and me. I was also surprised to find the pizza window open in Italy. The past few trips it had been closed and when I asked about it cast members didn’t really have an answer to its operating schedule.

With prosecco in hand, we continued around to the American Adventure where we found some space on the railing in front of the World Showcase Lagoon just past the amphitheater to people watch. We must have people watched for fifteen to twenty minutes before finally moving on to the Japan pavilion.

Japan is the favorite pavilion of our daughter as she loves the shop there. We walked around the shop for maybe fifteen minutes before ending up in back of the shop where all the Japanese candy and snacks are located. We must have waited another fifteen minutes for her to pick out all the snacks that she wanted. Finally with her selection complete, we were on the move to the United Kingdom.
We popped back into the Rose and Crown to grab a cider. Both times we went to the Rose and Crown this trip were able to walk in and walk right up to the bar. It can be crowded in there and tough to find a spot at the bar. After receiving our ciders, we made our way outside to do some more people watching.

Finally, it was time to head to Canada for our dinner reservation at Le Cellier. Le Cellier has quickly become my favorite restaurant on property. Each time I have been there the steaks have been better than most other steakhouses I’ve been to, and I’ve been to quite a few in Vegas. This experience was no different. We started out with the beer cheese soup, and everyone got the ribeye steak. It was as good as I remembered from December. They did make a slight change to their menu, but I didn’t notice any change to the quality of the food.

The best thing about having a late dinner reservation is when you leave the park, it’s almost completely empty. It’s quite an experience to find yourself almost completely alone in a Disney theme park. We took advantage of the lack of people and took some photos on our way out of Epcot. It’s always sad to leave the parks for the last time, but we knew we would be back soon.

The night was capped off by a little bit of cast member magic. As you may know, we have been having problems with bus service back to our resort. When we got to the Wilderness Lodge bus stop a bus pulled up and opened the door. The cast member driving the bus, Sarah from Galveston, asked where we were going. I told her Wilderness Lodge, and she said just hop on. She had two guests to drop off at the French Quarter and then she dropped us off at the Wilderness Lodge after. This by far was our best experience with the bus this trip.
Heidi and I went up to the room and got the kids settled and ready for bed. I realized we had enough time left to run down Geyser Point for a night cap. It was approaching 11:45pm by the time we got to Geyser Point, and the staff was cleaning up for night. The bartender was nice enough to make us two drinks and we took them over to chairs by the waters edge. We must have sat there until 1:00am just reminiscing about our trip and watching all the boats go to their dock on Bay Lake. It was something to see the ferry boats on Bay Lake, as you usually only see them on the Seven Seas Lagoon. This was a fantastic way to end the trip and one of the best endings to any Disney trip I’ve ever had.
