Food
The cuisine at The Cliffs ranges from seafood to steak to even a bit of Mexican food. The prices also seem reasonable considering its location and the views of the beach and ocean.
Coconut Shrimp – This was the only disappointment of the meal. It was bland and the sauce it came with didn’t seem to pair well. I rarely say anything but we mentioned that we did not care for these and the waitress took them off of our bill and brought us the chips guacamole and pico
Chicken Nachos – This was my pick for my entre. The chips are from a local company called Have-A-Chip and they are great tortilla chips. They are sturdy to stand up to all the toppings on the nachos and they don’t get soggy. The pico that comes on the nachos is outstanding. It might be the best pico I’ve had anywhere. The tomatoes are marinated in some sort of dressing and when mixed with the onions and peppers it creates a wonderful mix of flavors. There are plenty of toppings on the nachos even at the bottom of the plate you will find chips covered with cheese and chicken.
Baja Burrito – The burrito was loaded with Mahi Mahi, cabbage, and a crema. The flavor was outstanding, it might have been the best entre that we ordered. It is served with a side of the Have-A-Chips and pico.
Fish and Chips – The fish was fried to a beautiful golden brown. The fish inside was flaky and moist. It came with tartar sauce and frech fries. The Cliffs didn’t seem like a fish and chips place, but these stand up with any fish and chips I’ve had from any Irish pub.
Filet Mignon – The filet was cooked to a perfect medium and was served with a choice of potato and onion strings. The steak its self was tender and flavorful. The steak is served with a peppercorn sauce on top or on the side. No complaints here.
Ribeye Steak – Ribeye was cooked perfectly, and served with a choice of potato or rice. If I have any complaint here, it would be that I would like a thicker cut of steak. I wouldn’t say that it was a thin cut, but it was bordering on being a thin cut of steak.

Service
We had no issues with the service at The Cliffs. Our waitress was attentive and checked in often, but not to often to become an issue. We told her that we didn’t care for coconut shrimp and she took them off our bill and even replaced them with some chips and guacamole.

Overall
This was my second time at The Cliffs and I would say that this experience was better than the first. The views that the restaurant has of the Pacific Ocean are second to none. Both times I have dinned here have been outstanding experiences, and I will be back the next time I find myself in Laguna Beach.
