Wilderness Lodge to Waterpark Wonders
Day 6
Day 6 Started with Lunch at Whispering Canyon Café in the lobby of Wilderness Lodge. Heidi got the eggs benedict, the kids got a bison burger and the waffles, and I got one of the all-you-care-to-enjoy skillets. The food at Whispering Canyon Café is nothing spectacular, but it is good and convenient if you are staying at Wilderness Lodge.

After lunch it was off to Hollywood Studios again. The kids really love Tower of Terror, and we had time before the next Indiana Jones shows, so we made our way down Sunset Boulevard to the Hollywood Hotel. We made our way over to Indiana Jones after Tower of Terror to watch the stunt show. I skipped this show for probably ten years in a row, but now have done it the last three trips. I would say it’s a must do if you’ve never seen it.

The main purpose of going to Hollywood Studios after lunch was to take the Skyliner over to Epcot. The Skyliner was the last remaining mode of Disney’s transportation that we have yet to use. I wish they would expand these to even more parks and resorts. The Skyliner has quickly become my favorite mode of Disney transportation.

When we arrived at Epcot, we made our way over to France to play the Duck Tales game in the Disney Parks Play app. After we completed our mission, Heidi and I got a glass of champagne from one of the stores in France and we people watched in France for a few minutes. We had time to kill before the next item on the itinerary.

The activity for the night was the H20 Glow Nights at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. To get there my plan was to walk over to the Boardwalk and grab a bus to Disney Springs and then make the transfer to Typhoon Lagoon. When the Disney Springs bus showed up, it was mostly full and only a few people got off. Realizing that we were not going to make it on this bus, I ordered a Lyft, and we were off to Typhoon Lagoon.

Typhoon Lagoon is my favorite Disney waterpark, and it was neat to see it at night. I didn’t know what to expect, but the afterhours event exceeded my expectations. We were easily able to do all the rides in Typhoon Lagoon within a few hours. I’m going to do a separate review of the event, but I would highly recommend it.

We stayed right up until the waterpark closed at 11pm. Transportation home would be by bus. If you don’t know, the waterparks do not have direct bus service to the resorts. Typhoon Lagoon has a transfer at Disney Springs and Blizzard Beach has a transfer at Animal Kingdom. We boarded the bus from Typhoon Lagoon to Disney Springs and then made our way over to the Wilderness Lodge pick up area. We found ourselves waiting for twenty plus minutes again for a bus to show up. Eventually one did show up and we were finally on our way home to end the night.
